The Bruenning’s Breeze Wind Farm is located in Willacy County, Texas near the towns of Raymondville and San Perlita. The 228 MW wind energy facility consists of 76 Acciona / Nordex 3 MW turbines. The project is located only a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico which caused subsurface difficulties due to the high water tables. The project was impacted by over a month of high wind-related shutdowns, hurricane Harvey and other storm-related flooding that spread over 2 feet of water across thousands of acres of the project. Despite these obstacles, the project was completed on time and within budget.
